【摘要】:TestMethodF88hasbeenthestandardforthemechanicalpeelstrengthtestingofpeelablesealssincethe1960s.Normallythetestingisrunonaportionoftheseal.Theresultisanactualsealstrengthpictureofthatportionoftheseal.Thistestmethodisdifferentinthattheentirepackagesealispeeledopenanddatacollectedfortheentiresealedarea.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;Thistestmethodisatoolforqualityassuranceuseaswellasperformanceevaluationofasealduringseparation.nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;Withappropriatesoftware,dataiscollecteddepictingthesealstrengthoftheentirelengthoftheseal.Asaresult,itispossibletoseesealstrengthvariations,asthesealispeeledapart,therebyevaluatingtheconsistencyanduniformityoftheseal(seeFig.1).1.1Thistestmethoddescribesamethodforthemeasurementofmechanicalsealstrengthwhileseparatingtheentirelid(cover/membrane)fromarigidorsemi-rigidroundcontainer.1.2ThistestmethoddiffersfromTestMethodF88.TestMethodF88testsaportionofthesealwhereasthistestmethodteststheforcerequiredtoseparatetheentirelid(cover/membrane)fromthecontainer.1.3Thistestmethodisusedtodeterminethecontinuousandmaximumforcesrequiredtoseparatethelid(cover/membrane)fromthecontainer.1.4Thistestmethodusesanangleofpullof45x00B0;,howeverotheranglesofpullmaybeusedprovidedresultsaredocumentednotingtheusedangleofpullandsaidprocedureisvalidated.1.5Typicalexamplesofcontainershapesthatcouldbetestedusingthisorasimilarmethodincludeoval,rectangular,andcircularwithsingleormultiplecavitieshavingasealedlid(cover/membrane).Examplesofproductspackagedinthesetypesofcontainersare:readymeals,creamers,coffee,yogurts,householdfresheners,chemicalandpharmaceuticalproducts,andnumerousothersnotmentioned.However,thistestmethod,describedwithin,isspecificallyforroundcontainers.1.6Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
