【摘要】:1.1ThistestmethodcoverstwoseparatemodesofoperationoftheGyratoryTestingMachine(GTM),namely:(1)GTMfixedrollermode;and(2)GTMoil-filledrollermode.Thefixedrollermodeofoperationisemployedintestingforcompactionandstrainindicesonly,whiletheoil-filledrollermodeofoperationisemployedintestingforstrengthpropertiesaswellascompactionandstrainindices.Thistestmethodisforusewithmixturescontainingasphaltcement,asphaltcut-back,asphaltemulsion,ortarandaggregateupto1in.(25.4mm)maximumsizeinthe4-in.(101.6-mm)diameterspecimenand1.5in.(38.1mm)maximumsizeinthe6-in.(152.4-mm)diameterspecimen.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
